Get to know The Giving Goat!
Hey there goat lovers! Hannah here, founder, blogger, and Professional Goat Healthcare Consultant at The Giving Goat, LLC! Many goat owners know me, and have worked with me to help their goats thrive! But for those of you who don’t know about what I do, here is a bit of info!
I started The Giving Goat because I saw an immense need for sharing education and guidance on proper goat care, with a focus on integrated and thoughtful management. I am not a vet, I don’t have any fancy licenses, and my training comes from real-world experiences and lots of dedication to goat health. There are plenty of vets in the world, though goat veterinarians can be hard to come by. Whether you don’t have access to a skilled specialist, or you are struggling to afford veterinary expenses, your goats still need and deserve good healthcare. I understand that everyone has a different situation, with varying needs and abilities, so I started consulting and mentoring with a mission to get everyone and anyone the help they need. On a daily basis, I am contacted by people from all over the world with goat emergencies and questions. The people I consult with may have easy access to a variety of supplies, or comparatively, are in rural areas with nothing more than things one can find in a household. Either way, I will try my absolute best to work with whatever you have—even if that means using cayenne from your cabinet and dark beer from your fridge to save a goat! (P.S. – I do that often!)
All of my personal consulting is in a pay-what-you-can model. Even though I work many hours a day, every day (yes, that even means staying up with you while your first freshener is having kidding troubles if I can) I will never turn someone away, even if all I can get back is a thank you! But, if someone can make a donation to support the time that I give to those who cannot pay for my time, that is always welcomed.
As an Integrated Goat Healthcare Consultant, I offer guidance on many aspects of goat care. Integrated care involves combing the best of what both conventional and natural health can offer. Some alternative methods we may discuss include, but are not limited to: a full-body wellness approach, personalized nutrition, herbalism, homeopathy, essentials oils/aromatherapy, acupressure/massage/body work, holistic illness prevention, and much more!
I am happy to work with a variety of goat management practices and philosophies, while always ensuring my clients know how to employ conventional medicine safely and properly.
